Almighty, God, our Father in heaven,
hear your humble servant. It is only You who knows who I am. From the moment I
was born or yet in the womb of my mother. I could not have wished to be born but
your love has breathed into my life this gift of temporal existence.
You
have given me a soul without stain but the world that surrounds my life has
molded me to what I am now, a poor, despised sinner. I have learned to care for the people I serve in the most possible way I can because you once were a leader of a service. I have done it for these long years and I know it was years
well-spent, a cherished memory to remember when I retire.
But
again the deafening clamors and wailing of your people have reached my ears
disturbing my spirit that might have consigned to serenity. They urged me to lead them out from the quagmire
of criminality, corruption, and inequality. My lips say, no, but their overwhelming cry
has conquered again and enslaved my heart and dragged it front line to the
place of battle. Ever-living God, If it
is your will, I will follow. Only give
me the strength and the wisdom to serve my people.
Make
me an instrument of peace between my warring Moro brothers and the NPAs
because we need to unite our countrymen. Show us the common ground where we can shake
hands and embrace the climate of
peace. Help me to make this country a
land of honey and prosperity.
Then my
weary soul can rest because my soul is made for you and it will never rest
until it rests in You.
