Land Area of Barangays within the Proposed Municipality

The proposed Municipality of Matutum is composed of 9 barangays, one of which is considered urban and eight are classified as rural. The urban barangay is Cannery Site which is considered as the largest population center in the proposed municipality. The rural barangays are Klinan 6, Upper Klinan, Landan, Polo, Kinilis, Maligo, Palkan, Lamcaliaf.

   Barangay election 2008.
There were five candidates contesting for the position of barangay captain of Cannery Site: Edith Jimena ( the wife of barangay captain Roberto C. Jimena), Kagawad Jose P. Esposado Sr., Kagawad Mar Superioridad, Kagawad Eugene Taburno, and Eustaquio Candari Sr. Mar Superioridad came out the winner. He became barangay captain of Cannery Site from 2007 to 2010.

 Was the defeat of Edith Jimena as the extention dream of former barangay captain Roberto C. Jimena, who is the primary proponent of the creation of Matutum to become a municipality, the death signal of that dream? Only time will tell.
